Abstract

SANTOS, Alessandra Ferreira dos; MORAES, Eveline Ferreira  and  CASAGRANDE, Ana Lara. EDUCATION POLICY AND PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL: DIDACTIC MATERIAL FROM THE PRIVATE SECTOR IN MATO GROSSO. Revista LES [online]. 2024, vol.28, n.57, 4379.  Epub Apr 03, 2025. ISSN 2526-8449.  https://doi.org/10.26694/rles.v28i57.4379.

In this text, public secondary education is discussed, based on the analysis of didactic material produced by the private sector directed to the stage, in the state of Mato Grosso, in the theme History of Brazil. The neoliberal force in Education is debated and its influence in public education. Furthermore, the discussion about curriculum permeates this text, which has a potency of power as it selects and organizes the contents to be communicated in the curricular components. It can create/reinforce certain images about events and people, having a cultural impact. Thus, a qualitative, exploratory research is carried out, which mobilizes Discursive Textual Analysis to analyze aspects of the didactic material aimed at the 3rd year, produced by the Maxi Teaching System: (a) in the way of presentation, authorship and approach of the content; (b) in the proposed activities. It is concluded that the material presents hypertexts and images that complement the historical narrative undertaken, presents discursive and multiple-choice activities based on university entrance examinations. There is even a part called Mais Enem, which highlights the focus on the exam, which is now considered a major national entrance exam. The didactic material for public high schools, in terms of Brazilian history, deserves curriculum projects whose perspective is critical and not reinforcing the colonizer's view and which considers the specificity of public education, which is more than the entrance exam.

Keywords : High School; Didactic material; Entrance exam; Mato Grosso..
