Abstract

This text seeks to discuss the evaluation policy instituted from the Education Development Plan - PDE that considered the Basic Education Development Index - IDEB, as a measurer of educational quality, and how it reverberates in the daily school life and educational research within universities. In this sense, initially we sought in the official documents the understanding of how this policy was managed and implemented in Brazilian education; then through the analytical contributions of Saviani (2009); Richter; Souza (2015); Freitas (2016); Bertagna; Melo (2020); and Richter; Vieira (2021) a discussion was held on the meanings and implications of this policy model in schools; and finally, through a search in the Redalyc indexer, articles published in the last 05 years were selected, in an attempt to understand how research has been presented in the academic sphere. As a conclusion, it is pointed out that this policy model has brought to the school the accountability for the results, fragmentation of the pedagogical didactic work of the teachers, changes in the curriculum, and, therefore, a distance from an emancipatory teaching, being replaced by the search for results in the standardized tests.
