Abstract

This article adopts a bibliographical research methodology and presents a literature review of works that address research on Special Education policies and school success for people with visual impairments, from 2015 to 2022. The objective is to identify the national academic production on Special Education policies in Brazil and educational success trajectories of people with disabilities, especially the visually impaired. The works examined reveal that research on: a) Special Education Policies focuses on the evaluation of inclusive policies, teacher training, public and private financing, Special Education Target Audience, public policies, perceptions of those involved and history/legislation; b) School success addresses school trajectories, institutional/teacher support, personal motivation, family, educational policies, reference groups and health; c) Trajectories and visual impairment explore school trajectories, support/teachers, work and inclusion, the role of the family, public policies, health and teacher training. It is concluded that the bibliographical research not only revisits studied topics, but seeks to enrich the scientific understanding of Special Education policies and school trajectories of the visually impaired.
