Abstract

RABELO, Samuel Francisco  and  PORTO, Cristiane de Magalhães. LONELINESS AND RESISTENCE: COPING WITH TRANSPHOBIC BULLYING IN THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT. Revista LES [online]. 2024, vol.28, n.58, 5445.  Epub Mar 28, 2025. ISSN 2526-8449.  https://doi.org/10.26694/rles.v28i58.5445.

The experiences of transvestigêneres challenge the production and reproduction of practices and discourses originating in the school system. Since their experiences are often left out in the open, we look at loneliness as a dimension that merges with violence such as transphobic bullying, presented in this article. Thus, the objective is to reflect on the processes of loneliness in the school environment that permeate the lives of transgender students, being heightened by transphobic bullying, as a type of violence directed at this population. Methodologically, the research has a qualitative approach in Denzin and Lincoln (2006); Godoy (2005) and bibliography in Severino (2007); and Gil (2002) from a critical perspective of gender studies in education. We hope that this study will enable an in-depth look at the obstacles in the schooling of transgender people, with loneliness as a dimension present in these experiences, building networks of acceptance and humanization.
