Abstract

The main of this article was to explore narrated experiences of bead weaving, the products represented through weavings and the proximal (Bronfenbrenner, 2011) and formative processes of Environmental Education, which occur in life and everyday life -having as a basis the Aesthetic-Environmental Education and the aesthetic-environmental sensibilization (Estévez-Álvarez, 2017) -. The primary focus was the narrative of the constitution of the first author, as an environmental educator, from the dialogue with nine indigenous women of the Saraguro people of southern Ecuador and the possibilities that weaving offers. The childhoods of the interlocutors and of the first author, were approached, thought and felt and became essential, being highlighted throughout each of the statements that were made. The data was generated through semistructured interviews and analyzed through Grounded Theory (Charmaz, 2009). The elaboration of handicrafts, whose main material is bead, was also approached as an informal pedagogy.
