Abstract

The article presented aims to understand the effects of Institutional Assessment for decision-making and improvement of actions developed by managers aimed at the quality of the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT). The research approach was qualitative and quantitative of an analytical nature, following the technical/methodological procedures of bibliographical survey, documentary analysis and application of semi-structured interviews. The subjects interviewed were the 22 university managers (Rector, Vice-Rector, Pro-Rectors and Political-Pedagogical-Financial Directors) and the 04 members of the Own Assessment Committee (CPA). The interviews were categorized and interpreted using Content Analysis (Bardin, 2011) and assisted by the qualitative analysis software WebQDA. The results demonstrated that Institutional Self-Assessment at UNEMAT was conceived and implemented from a participatory and democratic perspective, the effects of which are present in the institution's daily life and visible in research, teaching, extension and management activities.
