This article presents an ethnographic analysis of interactions between Basic Education professionals in different positions during the preparation, application and development of the results of the Ceará Permanent Basic Education Assessment System (SPAECE) test. The research was composed of documentary analysis, bibliographic review and systematic participant observation in a regular high school in the interior of Ceará, between August 2019 and March 2020. One of the assumptions of this article is that Public Administration and School Education form different social fields from the perspective of Pierre Bourdieu (1989), and that external evaluations are moments of interaction between them. One of the analyzes resulting from this work is that teachers in different positions, in management or in the classroom, end up acting in different logics and as a result developing some resentment when held accountable for learning results, and that symbolic power in this comparison it reaches the arena of language
