Dear readers,

It is with joy that we reach the end of another year and celebrate the beginning of a new year. Our satisfaction is due to the fact that this year we were awarded the A2 qualification in the CAPES (Higher Level Personnel Improvement Coordination) mid-term evaluation.

This achievement reflects the hard work and commitment to scientific dissemination with which former and current editors, editorial board, technical staff, peer reviewers, contributors and the Coordination of the UFSCar Graduate Program in Education have been tirelessly investing over the years.

This volume inaugurates a new phase of REVEDUC by adopting continuous publishing (rolling pass) as a model of editorial practice. With this option, we intend to speed up the dissemination of approved articles and our readers' access to the production of new knowledge. And according to other journals, that have adopted this alternative, we expect to better serve our contributors by publishing their productions without having to wait for the full issue of a number. In this sense, gradually the publication Ahead of Print will cease to exist.

Although we are experiencing difficult times related to the dark educational landscape and with little financial resources devoted to scientific research, we have sought to overcome adversity with creativity and innovation in order to improve editorial processes. An example is the constitution of the Technical Editorial Board of REVEDUC-Electronic Journal of Education formed by postgraduates of PPGE (Postgraduate Program in Education of UFSCar).

This group, selected in March 2019, has been assisting editors in the follow-up activities of the submissions and the opinions of the material submitted for publication, which has relieved temporary impeachments of this editorial stage, among other tasks related to the journal's publications. For the students participating in the initiative, we aim to provide knowledge of the operation and editing of electronic journals, considering on the one hand their participation in a training program to perform the tasks provided for the entire process of evaluation and editing of a scientific article, as well as to experiment with editorial practices, such as attending meetings of the Editorial Board, thereby expanding their academic and scientific background.

Another advance noted is the institutional support of both the Direction of the Center for Education and Humanities (CECH) as well as the UFSCar Integrated Library System - SIBI, which, by respectively supporting the editorial processes and strengthening the university's Portal of Journals, reaffirms the political commitment to REVEDUC and the recognition of its role in promoting scientific dissemination in the educational field.

Looking to the future, we reiterate our commitment to the dissemination of qualified and accessible scientific research through our investment in registering REVEDUC in other indexers, expanding the publication of original articles in English as well as original articles in Portuguese translated into English and in the dissemination of articles published on social media.

We hope that 2020 will be a lighter and more distended year that will allow increased investments for Brazilian research and its dissemination. We will work to ensure that REVEDUC continues its successful trajectory by bringing relevant Brazilian and international educational research to our readers.
