Parte-se de uma revis&#227;o de literatura sobre efeito- -professor, efic&#225;cia escolar, desempenho docente, compet&#234;ncias para ensinar, saberes docentes e processo de profissionaliza&#231;&#227;o. Adotam-se como categorias de an&#225;lises cinco dimens&#245;es da doc&#234;ncia no ensino m&#233;dio: conhecimento, estrat&#233;gica, relacional, motivacional e profissional. Conclui-se que o alargamento das concep&#231;&#245;es do que constitui um &#8220;bom professor&#8221; de ensino m&#233;dio pode contribuir para a institui&#231;&#227;o de pol&#237;ticas para fomentar o desenvolvimento da carreira docente e para as diretrizes dos cursos de forma&#231;&#227;o inicial e continuada dos professores especialistas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This article aims to discuss a set of theoretical and methodological references about teaching performance, in order to identify characteristics of a &#8220;good teacher&#8221;. It is based on a review of literature on teacher-effect, school effectiveness, teacher performance, teaching skills, teacher knowledge and the professionalization process. The categories of analyses used are the five dimensions of teaching in high school: knowledge, strategy, relational, motivational and professional. It can be concluded that the expansion of the concepts of what makes a &#8220;good high school teacher&#8221; can contribute to the implementation of policies that will promote the development of the teaching career and to guidelines for the initial and continuous training courses of specialized teachers. ]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[R&#201;SUM&#201; Cet article vise &#224; articuler un ensemble de r&#233;f&#233;renciels th&#233;oriques et m&#233;thodologiques concernant la performance des enseignants, afin d&#8217;identifier les caract&#233;ristiques d&#8217;un bon &#8220;professeur&#8221; de l&#8217;enseignement secondaire. Cette &#233;tude prend comme point de d&#233;part la r&#233;vision de la litt&#233;rature sur l&#8217;effet-enseignant, l&#8217;efficacit&#233; scolaire, la performance des enseignants, les comp&#233;tences requises pour enseigner, les savoirs des enseignants et leur processus de professionnalisation. <abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El objetivo de este art&#237;culo es articular un conjunto de referentes te&#243;ricometodol&#243;gicos sobre desempe&#241;o docente, con el fin de identificar caracter&#237;sticas de un &#8220;buen profesor&#8221; de ense&#241;anza media. Se parte de una revisi&#243;n de literatura sobre efecto-profesor, eficacia escolar, desempe&#241;o docente, competencias para ense&#241;ar, saberes docentes y proceso de profesionalizaci&#243;n. Se adoptan como categor&#237;as de an&#225;lisis cinco dimensiones de la docencia en la ense&#241;anza media: conocimiento, estrat&#233;gica, relacional, motivacional y profesional.
