Partindo do conceito de eficácia escolar, foi aplicada a metodologia de modelagem multinível multivariada aos dados educacionais do Sistema de Avaliação da Educação Básica. Os resultados mostraram que as escolas federais foram aquelas que apresentaram os maiores desempenhos e efeito escola na referida avaliação e que fatores em nível de aluno e escola impactam o aprendizado. São analisados e discutidos, também, os aspectos da qualidade dessas escolas, vis-à-vis as demais redes de ensino, por meio de indicadores e medidas de eficácia, que incluem o Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El trabajo investiga y analiza los factores intra y extraescolares que influyen en el desempeño de los estudiantes de educación media, de forma diferencial y de acuerdo al tipo de red escolar. Partiendo del concepto de eficacia escolar, se aplicó la metodología de modelado multinivel con múltiples variaciones de los datos educativos del Sistema de Avaliação da Educação Básica [Sistema de Evaluación de Educación Básica]. Los resul- tados demostraron que las escuelas federales fueron las que presentaron los mejores desempeños y efecto escuela en la referida evaluación y que factores a nivel de alumno y escuela impactan el aprendizaje. Se analizan y discuten asimismo los aspectos de la calidad de dichas escuelas, vis-à-vis las demás redes de enseñanza, por intermedio de indicadores y medidas de eficacia, que incluyen el Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica [Índice de Desarrollo de Educación Básica].]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This paper investigates and analyzes the in-school and out-of-school factors that influence the performance of secondary school students, according to the type of school network. Based on the concept of school effectiveness, the multivariate multilevel modeling methodology was applied to educational data from the Sistema de Avaliação da Educação Básica [Basic Education Assessment System]. The results showed that federal schools had the highest performance and school effect in this assessment and that factors at student and school level have an impact on learning. We also analyze and discuss aspects of the quality of these schools vis-à-vis other education networks, using indicators and measures of effectiveness, including the Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica [Basic Education Development Index].]]></p></abstract>
