O trabalho inicia contextualizando o porqu&#234; da ado&#231;&#227;o dessa abordagem metodol&#243;gica, analisando como surgiu. Depois oferece orienta&#231;&#227;o sobre como utilizar essa abordagem para a pesquisa e desenvolvimento de aplica&#231;&#245;es em v&#225;rias &#225;reas, mais propriamente para o desenvolvimento de propostas de processo cognitivo em ambientes digitais educacionais.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[This article presents the fundamentals of research methodology better known as Design-Based Research - DBR, and that we believe we have a better term for it in Portuguese, Pesquisa de Desenvolvimento (Development Research). Our study starts contextualizing why adopt this methodological approach, analyzing its emergence. Then it offers guidance on how to use this approach in order to research and develop applications in several areas, for the development of proposals of cognitive processes in digital educational environments in particular.]]></p></abstract>
