O desvelamento dos saberes dessa popula&#231;&#227;o foi feito a partir de metodologia, cujo aporte freireano e dusseliano privilegiou a participa&#231;&#227;o dos sujeitos. Foram realizadas rodas de conversa, entrevistas para levantamento de temas geradores e da an&#225;lise dos dados emergiram categorias que possibilitaram compreens&#227;o mais detida sobre a realidade investigada, a saber: 1) "As pessoas que est&#227;o na rua n&#227;o s&#227;o os lixos que a sociedade joga fora"; 2) "Viver &#233; saber viver. Morar &#233; lavar, passar, cozinhar"; 3) "Viver na rua &#233; muito dif&#237;cil, mas &#233; alegre tamb&#233;m, sabia?"; 4) "A rua &#233; um mundo"; 5) "Na rua eu aprendi muito, experi&#234;ncias que eu jamais vou esquecer". Foi poss&#237;vel apreender processos educativos consolidados na rua, como a busca por sobreviv&#234;ncia material e simb&#243;lica, prote&#231;&#227;o do grupo e resist&#234;ncia dentro da l&#243;gica que oprime aqueles e aquelas que vivem as complexas dimens&#245;es da vida humana nessas condi&#231;&#245;es. Espera-se contribuir com a problematiza&#231;&#227;o de vis&#245;es distorcidas de que na rua nada se ensina e pouco se aprende, al&#233;m de colaborar no debate acerca das pedagogias dos grupos populares.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[This paper presents the results of research concerning educational processes experienced by adults living on the streets of S&#227;o Carlos, a city in the state of S&#227;o Paulo. This population's acquired knowledge was discovered using a methodology based on the theories of Freire and Dussel, which emphasize the participation of subjects. Key themes were discovered via conversations and interviews. From analyzing the acquired data categories emerged that enabled a wider understanding of the reality being investigated, namely: 1) "The people who are on the street are not garbage that society throws out"; 2) "Living is about learning how to live; inhabiting is about washing, ironing, cooking"; 3) "Living on the street is very difficult, but it is a happy experience too, you know?"; 4) "The street is a world"; 5) "On the streets I learned a lot, experiences that I will never forget." It was possible to become aware of educational processes that were consolidated in the streets, such as the search for symbolic and material survival strategies, group protection, and resistance against the logic that oppresses the men and women who experience the complex dimensions of human life in this condition. The aim is to question society's distorted views of the street as a place where nothing is taught and little is learned, as well as contributing to the debate concerning the pedagogies of low-income groups.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Este trabajo presenta los resultados de la investigaci&#243;n sobre los procesos educativos realizados por los adultos que viven en las calles de la ciudad de S&#227;o Carlos/SP. La develaci&#243;n del conocimiento de esta poblaci&#243;n se hizo con la metodolog&#237;a, donde el aporte dusseliano y freireano favorecieron la participaci&#243;n de los sujetos. Se realizaron ruedas de conversaci&#243;n y entrevistas para seleccionar temas generadores y de an&#225;lisis, de los datos que permitieran una comprensi&#243;n m&#225;s detallada de la realidade investigada y la selecci&#243;n de cinco categor&#237;as, a saber: 1) "Las personas que est&#225;n em la calle, no son los residuos que la sociedad desecha"; 2) "Vivir es saber vivir. Vivir es lavar, planchar, cocinar"; 3) "Vivir en la calle es muy dif&#237;cil, pero tambi&#233;n es alegre, &#191;sabes? "; 4) "La calle es un mundo"; 5) "En la calle aprend&#237; mucho, experi&#234;ncias que nunca olvidar&#233;". Fue posible comprender los procesos educativos consolidados en la calle, como la b&#250;squeda de la supervivencia material y simb&#243;lica, la protecci&#243;n del grupo y la resistencia dentro de la l&#243;gica que oprime a los hombres y mujeres que viven las complejas dimensiones de la vida humana en esta condici&#243;n. Se espera contribuir con la problematizaci&#243;n de las visiones distorsionada, que ense&#241;an que en la calle poco se aprende, adem&#225;s de colaborar en el debate acerca de la pedagog&#237;a de los grupos populares.]]></p></abstract>
