Por ser um periódico de reconhecida política editorial no campo da Educação, contamos com a satisfação de receber um considerável número de manuscritos a cada ano. Se por um lado isso é motivo de orgulho, por outro impacta diretamente a necessidade de organizar a política editorial de modo a que a avaliação possa, ao mesmo tempo, ter celeridade e qualidade. A emissão de pareceres tem sido parte central e importante no processo e, por isso, merece atenção e cuidado constantes. Neste texto, discutimos alguns elementos que estão associados à avaliação de textos por editores e pareceristas e que circunscrevem a atividade editorial e a produção científica. Posicionamo-nos favoráveis à avaliação em duplo cego, por entendermos que este é um elemento importante na garantia de rigor e isenção à produção científica, e discutimos como estímulos à produção constante e rápida podem impactar a atividade editorial. Além disso, apresentamos uma ideia geral sobre os textos publicados ao longo de 2024, com especial destaque para as seções temáticas em que as coletâneas de artigos dialogam com temas atuais e importantes para a pesquisa em Educação.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract At the end of 2024, we present a summary of actions taken by the editorial board of Educação e Pesquisa. As a journal with a recognized editorial policy in the Education research area, we are pleased to receive a considerable number of manuscripts each year. While this is a source of pride, on the other hand, it directly impacts the need to organize the editorial policy so that evaluation can be both fast and high-quality. The issuance of reviews has been a central and important part of the process and, therefore, deserves constant attention and care. In this text, we discuss some elements that are associated with the evaluation of texts by editors and reviewers and that circumscribe editorial activity and scientific production. We are in favor of double-blind peer review, as we understand that this is an important element in ensuring rigor and impartiality in scientific production, and we discuss how incentives for constant and fast production can impact editorial activity. In addition, we present a general idea of the texts published throughout 2024, with special emphasis on the thematic sections in which the collections of articles discuss current and important themes for the Education research area.]]></p></abstract>
