Portanto, o presente artigo busca analisar as dinâmicas de gênero e de poder na gestão escolar da rede estadual de ensino de Santa Catarina. Os dados da pesquisa foram coletados junto à Secretaria de Estado da Educação e por meio do envio de um questionário, elaborado no Google Forms, para diretoras que integram as 36 Coordenadorias Regional de Educação do Estado, no qual se obteve a resposta de 73 diretoras. Os dados foram categorizados e analisados pela perspectiva da interpretação hermenêutica. Para este estudo foram analisadas duas categorias: i) a representatividade das mulheres na gestão; ii) os desafios de estar na direção escolar como mulher. Os resultados mostram que a gestão na educação básica, mais que um lugar de poder, é parte do exercício da função docente, que é expressivamente feminina. Contudo, pelo fato de as mulheres estarem em um lugar de liderança identifica-se a presença de dinâmicas de gênero e de poder que reproduzem as desigualdades sociais entre mulheres e homens. Isto é, elas ainda estão ausentes de instâncias de maior poder de decisão do sistema educativo e quando estão na gestão das escolas enfrentam o desafio da comunicação violenta e a inexistência da justa distribuição do trabalho reprodutivo em seus lares.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In basic education, school management is mostly female, but there are few studies that problematize the gender dynamics that permeate this position. Therefore, this article seeks to analyze gender and power dynamics in school management in the state education network of Santa Catarina. The survey data was collected from the State Department of Education and by sending a Google Forms questionnaire to principals from the state&#8217;s 36 Regional Education Coordinating Offices, from which 73 principals responded. The data was categorized and analyzed from the perspective of hermeneutic interpretation. For this study, two categories were analyzed: i) the representativeness of women in management; ii) the challenges of being in school management as a woman. The results show that management in basic education, more than a place of power, is part of the teaching profession, which is expressively female. However, due to the fact that women are in a position of leadership, we identify the presence of gender and power dynamics that reproduce social inequalities between women and men. In other words, they are still absent from the highest decision-making bodies in the education system and when they are in school management, they face the challenge of violent communication and the lack of a fair distribution of domestic tasks in their homes.]]></p></abstract>
