Nosso objetivo central neste texto foi investigar como estudantes de uma escola de Ensino Médio público percebem suas aprendizagens no componente curricular Biologia e a relação que estas têm com as TIMS, em especial, o uso do smartphone. Foi utilizado um questionário auto administrado, o qual foi aplicado na presença do pesquisador, respondido por 220 participantes. Os resultados demonstraram que mais de 97% dos estudantes possuem acesso às TIMS, mais de 60% usam os smartphones por mais de seis horas/dia, e 75% deles declararam gostar dos conteúdos biológicos. Contudo, o uso das TIMS, com finalidade pedagógica na sala de aula, é negado ou negligenciado por professores de Biologia.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The proper use and insertion of Mobile and Wireless Information and Communication Technologies can significantly favor different possibilities in the teaching-learning-evaluation process in Biology teaching. Our central objective of this text was to investigate how students from a public high school perceive their learning in the Biology curricular component and the relationship they have with TIMS, especially regarding the smartphone use. A self-administered questionnaire was used, which was applied in the presence of the researcher, answered by 220 participants. The results showed that more than 97% of students have access to TIMS, more than 60% use smartphones for more than six hours/day, and 75% of them said they liked biological content. However, the use of TIMS, with pedagogical purpose in the classroom, is denied or neglected by biology teachers.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN El uso y la inserción adecuados de las tecnologías de información y comunicación móviles e inalámbricas pueden favorecer significativamente diferentes posibilidades en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje-evaluación en la enseñanza de la Biología. Nuestro principal objetivo en este texto fue comprender cómo los estudiantes de una escuela secundaria pública se relacionan con TIMS y, además, cómo perciben su aprendizaje en el componente curricular Biología. Se usó un cuestionario auto administrado, que se aplicó en presencia del investigador, respondido por 220 participantes. Los resultados mostraron que más del 97% de los estudiantes tienen acceso a TIMS, más del 60% usan teléfonos inteligentes durante más de seis horas / día y el 75% de ellos dijeron que les gusta el contenido biológico. Sin embargo, el uso de TIMS con fines pedagógicos en el aula es negado o descuidado por los profesores de biología.]]></p></abstract>
