A metodologia combina estatística descritiva e entrevistas semiestruturada realizadas com gestores, docentes e discentes evadidos. Principais achados: 1) os dados quantitativos coletados na instituição apontam uma evasão de 77% com menor acesso e permanência das mulheres, ademais, o maior abandono geral ocorre até o terceiro semestre; 2) as entrevistas semiestruturadas revelam uma evasão ocasionada por fatores de trabalho/emprego, questões pessoais e desnivelamento dos discentes, insuficiente capacitação e descompromisso de alguns docentes, despreparo e estrutura inadequada da instituição, executores do programa desconhecem a base legal, estágios com baixa remuneração, duas greves.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This article analyzes the evasion of PROEJA in the period of its offer at the IFMT - Campus Cuiabá (2007 a 2014). The methodology combines descriptive statistics and semi-structured interviews with managers, teachers and dropout students. The main discoveries: 1) the quantitative data collected at the institution point to an evasion of 77% with less access and permanence of women, in addition, the greatest general abandonment occurs until the third semester; 2) semi-structured interviews reveal an evasion caused by factors of work/employment, personal issues and unlevelling of the students, insufficient training and lack of commitment by some teachers, unpreparedness and inadequate structure of the institution, program implementers are unaware of the legal basis, low-paid internships, two strikes.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Este artículo analiza la evasión de PROEJA en el período de su oferta en el IFMT - Campus Cuiabá (2007 a 2014). La metodología combina estadística descriptiva y entrevistas semiestructuradas con directivos, docentes y alumnos desertores. Principales hallazgos: 1) los datos cuantitativos recolectados en la institución apuntan a una evasión del 77% con menor acceso y permanencia de las mujeres, además, la mayor deserción general se da hasta el tercer semestre; 2) Las entrevistas semiestructuradas revelan una evasión causada por factores de trabajo / empleo, problemas personales y desigualdad de los estudiantes, capacitación insuficiente y falta de compromiso de algunos docentes, falta de preparación y estructura inadecuada de la institución, los ejecutores del programa desconocen la legalidad. base, pasantías con baja remuneración, dos huelgas.]]></p></abstract>
