Foram realizados dois estudos, um quantitativo e outro qualitativo, e ambos tiveram como plano de fundo metodol&#243;gico a inser&#231;&#227;o ecol&#243;gica. Participaram do estudo quantitativo 241 crian&#231;as e adolescentes. Os resultados revelaram que a maioria j&#225; foi v&#237;tima de algum tipo de agress&#227;o f&#237;sica cometida por professores ou ficou de castigo na escola. No estudo qualitativo, as crian&#231;as e os adolescentes foram un&#226;nimes ao relatar o uso de castigos f&#237;sicos e, apesar de n&#227;o gostarem de ser castigadas, muitas afirmaram acreditar que estes s&#227;o necess&#225;rios para a aprendizagem. Elas tamb&#233;m identificaram precariedade infraestrutural, escassez de material escolar e falta de &#225;gua, energia el&#233;trica e merenda. O respeito aos direitos da crian&#231;a ainda &#233; incipiente em Angola como um todo e nas escolas em particular.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This paper aimed to assess the situation of children's rights and the existence of corporal punishment in Angolan public primary schools. Both studies 1 and 2 used the ecological engagement as a methodological background. In study 1, quantitative, most of the 241 participants, children form 9 to 18 years old, said that at least once they have been grounded or victims of corporal punishment by teachers. In study 2, qualitative, all participants said that corporal punishment is frequently used in their schools. Although they do not like it, many of them said that this kind of punishment is a requisite for the learning process. Participants also identified infrastructural problems and lack of school suplies, water, electricity and food at the schools. Children's rights are still incipient in Angola as a country and in the schools in particular.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El objetivo de este art&#237;culo es investigar la situaci&#243;n de los derechos del ni&#241;o y la utilizaci&#243;n de castigos f&#237;sicos en escuelas primarias p&#250;blicas de Angola. Fueron realizados dos estudios, no cuantitativo y otro cualitativo; ambos tuvieron como base metodol&#243;gica la inserci&#243;n ecol&#243;gica. Participaron del estudio cuantitativo 241 ni&#241;os y adolescentes. Los resultados indicaron que la mayor&#237;a ya ha sido v&#237;ctima de alg&#250;n tipo de agresi&#243;n f&#237;sica cometida por profesores o qued&#243; castigado en la escuela. En el estudio cualitativo, los ni&#241;os y adolescentes fueron un&#225;nimes al relatar la utilizaci&#243;n de castigos f&#237;sicos y, a pesar de no querer ser castigados, muchos afirmaron creer que los castigos son necesarios para el aprendizaje. Tambi&#233;n identificaron precariedad de infraestructuras, escasez de materiales escolares, falta de agua, energ&#237;a el&#233;ctrica y merienda. El respeto a los derechos del ni&#241;o todav&#237;a es incipiente em Angola como pa&#237;s y en las escuelas en particular.]]></p></abstract>
