O objetivo deste artigo é tecer reflexões sobre a Pedagogia do Oprimido e a sua importância na construção do pensamento educacional de Paulo Freire, bem como apresentar o legado de Paulo Freire na Educação de Jovens e Adultos em diferentes contextos de sua andarilhagem pelo mundo. Consiste em uma pesquisa bibliográfica, envolvendo obras de Paulo Freire e de autores que estudam e pesquisam sobre Paulo Freire, entre outros. Em relação aos resultados destaca-se que o legado de Paulo Freire cresce em todo o mundo e, em especial, no número de Cátedras, Institutos e Grupos de Pesquisas, que se voltam para estudos sobre a teoria e as práticas da educação freireana, além da realização da formação de educadores/as, publicações e eventos acadêmicos e culturais.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The book Pedagogy of the Oppressed by Paulo Freire has been the main reference in the dissemination of Freirean education in different countries in the world. The purpose of this article is to weave reflections on Pedagogy of the Oppressed and its importance in the construction of Paulo Freire &#8216;s educational thinking, as well as to present Paulo Freire&#8217; s legacy in the education of young people and adults in different contexts of his journey through the world. It consists of a bibliographical research, involving works by Paulo Freire and authors who study and research on Paulo Freire, among others. Regarding the results, Paulo Freire's legacy grows around the world, especially in the number of Chairs, Institutes and Research Groups, which focus on studies on the theory and practices of Freirean education, besides the training of educators, publications and academic and cultural events.]]></p></abstract>

El objetivo de este artículo es tejer reflexiones sobre la Pedagogía del Oprimido y su importancia en la construcción del pensamiento educativo de Paulo Freire, así como presentar el legado de Paulo Freire en la educación de jóvenes y adultos en diferentes contextos de su andar por el mundo. Consiste en una investigación bibliográfica, involucrando obras de Paulo Freire y de autores que estudian e investiga sobre Paulo Freire, entre otros.
