Foi realizada uma análise documental das provas de redações do ENEM entre os anos de 1998 e 2021. As discussões foram realizadas a partir da estrutura de interpretação hermenêutica. A análise empreendida foi comparativa evidenciando o crescimento do Exame desde sua primeira edição e teve como categorias: quantitativo de inscritos, temáticas da prova de redação, gêneros textuais que compõem as propostas bem como os critérios de correção. Assim, o que se constatou foi uma complexidade ao longo das edições, exigindo maior preparo dos candidatos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article aims to present and discuss the evolution of the severity of the themes of the essays of ENEM (Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio, which can be translated as High School National Exam), between the years 1998 and 2022, regarding the motivating texts: ability to read multiple textual genres and knowledge about various areas. For this goal, a documental analysis of the ENEM writing tests between the years 1998 and 2021 was carried out. The discussions were carried out from the structure of hermeneutic interpretation. the analysis undertaken was comparative, evidencing the growth of ENEM since its first edition. The analysis had the following categories: number of applicants, themes of the writing test, textual genres that make up the proposals, as well as the correction criteria. At the end, we found a complexity throughout the editions, requiring greater preparation from the candidates.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar y discutir la evolución del rigor de los temas de las redacciónes del Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio - ENEM, entre los años 1998 y 2022, en cuanto a los textos motivadores: capacidad de lectura de múltiples géneros textuales y conocimiento de diversas áreas. Para ello, se realizó un análisis documental de las pruebas de redacción del ENEM entre los años 1998 y 2021. Las discusiones se realizaron a partir de la estructura de interpretación hermenéutica. el análisis realizado fue comparativo, evidenciando el crecimiento del Exame desde su primera edición. El análisis tuvo las siguientes categorías: número de postulantes, temas de la prueba de redacción, géneros textuales que integran las propuestas, así como los criterios de corrección. Desto modo, lo que se encontró fue una complejidad a lo largo de las ediciones, requiriendo mayor preparación de los candidatos.]]></p></abstract>
