O estudo é de caráter qualitativo, com uma abordagem biográfica. Foi utilizado um único instrumento de construção de dados: a entrevista narrativa. O estudo foi realizado com 12 professores/as iniciantes de EF, egressos da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), todos com até três anos de inserção profissional na escola básica. Os dados mostram que uma diversidade de vivências formativas formais, não formais e informais são tomadas pelos professores como significativas ao processo de formação e intervenção profissional no início da carreira. Tais achados da pesquisa sugerem que as histórias de vida conformam professores dotados de experiências de formação plurais, com disposições sociais diversas, o que tornaria as trajetórias de inserção profissional um fenômeno social plural, situado e intrasferível, visão que relativizaria os marcadores temporais (cronológicos) dos ciclos da carreira docente, como da caracterização de significados mais gerais sobre a experiência de iniciar a carreira docente. Não apenas porque os contextos de inserção profissional são diversos, mas também porque os professores que iniciam a profissão são sujeitos que carregam consigo histórias de vida e patrimônios formativos singulares que acabam por tornar a experiência de inserção profissional um fenômeno muito particular.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article discusses the results of a research that aimed to investigate the correlations between the life stories of beginning Physical Education (PE) teachers, training processes and coping with the challenges of starting to teach. The study is qualitative, with a biographical approach. A single data construction instrument was used: the narrative interview. The study was carried out with 12 beginner PE teachers, graduates of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMF), all with up to three years of professional insertion in basic school. The data show that a variety of formal, non-formal and informal training experiences are taken by teachers as significant in the process of training and professional intervention at the beginning of their careers. Such research findings suggest that life stories conform teachers with plural training experiences, with different social dispositions, which would make professional insertion trajectories a plural, situated and transferable social phenomenon, a view that would relativize temporal (chronological) markers of the teaching career cycles, as well as the characterization of more general meanings about the experience of starting a teaching career. Not only because the contexts of professional insertion are diverse, but also because teachers who start the profession are subjects who carry with them life stories and unique training assets that end up making the experience of professional insertion a very particular phenomenon.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este artículo discute los resultados de una investigación que tuvo como objetivo indagar las correlaciones entre las historias de vida de los profesores principiantes de Educación Física (EF), los procesos de formación y el enfrentamiento a los desafíos de empezar a enseñar. El estudio es cualitativo, con un enfoque biográfico. Se utilizó un único instrumento de construcción de datos: la entrevista narrativa. El estudio fue realizado con 12 profesores principiantes de EF, egresados de la Universidad Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMF), todos con hasta tres años de inserción profesional en la escuela básica. Los datos muestran que una variedad de experiencias de formación formal, no formal e informal son tomadas por los docentes como significativas en el proceso de formación e intervención profesional al inicio de sus carreras. Tales hallazgos de investigación sugieren que las historias de vida conforman docentes con experiencias formativas plurales, con diferentes disposiciones sociales, lo que haría de las trayectorias de inserción profesional un fenómeno social plural, situado y transferible, visión que relativizaría los marcadores temporales (cronológicos) de los ciclos de la carrera docente, así como la caracterización de significados más generales sobre la experiencia de iniciar la carrera docente. No sólo porque los contextos de inserción profesional son diversos, sino también porque los docentes que inician la profesión son sujetos que llevan consigo historias de vida y valores formativos singulares que terminan por hacer de la experiencia de inserción profesional un fenómeno muy particular.]]></p></abstract>
