Para a consecução deste objetivo foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica a partir de obras de Glauber Rocha (2004) e Walter Benjamin (1955, 1984, 1986, 1989) que foram as principais referências teóricas, de onde abstraímos principalmente os conceitos relacionados ao campo da estética e do cinema. O problema, como ler o filme &#8220;A idade da terra&#8221; à luz de conceitos benjaminianos direcionou a pesquisa, que em sua metodologia incluiu a realização de análises de imagens recortadas para compreender sua produção artística e seu conteúdo educativo. Após análises realizadas, concluímos que é possível identificar a presença de conceitos/valores estéticos benjaminianos como alegoria, choque, segunda técnica e imagem dialética na obra e, portanto, a caracterização de sua forma estética potencializa sua dimensão pedagógica, principalmente na direção da compreensão crítica da história do povo brasileiro, dos processos políticos e ideológicos gerados pelos imperialistas e elites nacionais que comandaram o Estado nacional e, conforme pensava Benjamin, sem reconciliação dos povos oprimidos com sua história.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The purpose in this article is to make an interpretative reading of aesthetic form and the pedagogical dimension of the film &#8220;The Age of the Earth&#8221;, by Brazilian filmmaker Glauber Rocha. To achieve this objective, a bibliographical research was carried out based on the works by Glauber Rocha (2004) and Walter Benjamin (1955, 1984, 1986, 1989), which were the main theoretical references, from which we abstracted mainly the concepts related to the aesthetics field and movie theater. The problem, how to read the film &#8220;The Age of the Earth&#8221; guided the research in the light of Benjaminian concepts, which in its methodology included performing analysis of clipped images to understand its artistic production and its educational content. After analyses, we conclude that it is possible to identify the Benjaminian aesthetic concepts/values presence, such as allegory, shock, second technique and dialectical image in the work and, therefore, the characterization of its aesthetic form enhances its pedagogical dimension mainly in the direction of the critical understanding of the Brazilian people history, about political and ideological processes generated by the imperialists and national elites that commanded the national State and, as Benjamin thought, without reconciling the oppressed people with their history.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El propósito de este artículo es hacer una lectura interpretativa de la forma estética y la dimensión pedagógica de la película &#8220;La edad de la tierra&#8221;, del cineasta brasileño Glauber Rocha. Para lograr este objetivo, se realizó una investigación bibliográfica basada en los trabajos de Glauber Rocha (2004) y Walter Benjamin (1955, 1984, 1986, 1989), que fueron los principales referentes teóricos, de los cuales abstrajimos principalmente los conceptos relacionados con el campo de la estética y el cine. El problema, cómo leer la película &#8220;La edad de la tierra&#8221; a la luz de los conceptos benjaminianos, guió la investigación, que en su metodología incluyó realizar análisis de imágenes recortadas para comprender su producción artística y su contenido educativo. Luego de los análisis, concluimos que es posible identificar la presencia de conceptos/valores estéticos benjaminianos como alegoría, choque, segunda técnica e imagen dialéctica en la obra y, por tanto, la caracterización de su forma estética potencia su dimensión pedagógica principalmente en la dirección de la comprensión crítica de la historia del pueblo brasileño, de los procesos políticos e ideológicos generados por los imperialistas y las élites nacionales que comandaban el Estado nacional y, como pensaba Benjamin, sin reconciliar a los pueblos oprimidos con su historia.]]></p></abstract>
