Essa evolu&#231;&#227;o vem influenciando todas as atividades humanas e as pr&#225;ticas pedag&#243;gicas. A incorpora&#231;&#227;o das Tecnologias de Informa&#231;&#227;o e Comunica&#231;&#227;o na educa&#231;&#227;o proporcionou o surgimento dos Ambientes Virtuais de Aprendizagem. O presente artigo tem como objetivo estudar o uso dos recursos do Moodle e discutir seu potencial pedag&#243;gico em tr&#234;s cursos de especializa&#231;&#227;o a dist&#226;ncia da Universidade Federal de S&#227;o Paulo. Com enfoque quantitativo e tendo o estudo de caso como estrat&#233;gia de pesquisa, utilizou a an&#225;lise de conte&#250;do e uma ferramenta denominada Moodle 1.9.x Data Extrator, desenvolvida na pesquisa, para a coleta dos dados. O estudo concluiu que, embora o Moodle tenha como focos principais a intera&#231;&#227;o e constru&#231;&#227;o colaborativa de conhecimento, disponibilize ferramentas para processos de forma&#231;&#227;o baseados na pedagogia construtivista e voltados para a intera&#231;&#227;o e constru&#231;&#227;o colaborativa de conhecimento, nos cursos da amostra de pesquisa, o processo de ensino e aprendizagem, no que concerne ao uso do Moodle e das ferramentas disponibilizadas pelo AVA, parece ter assumido uma tend&#234;ncia mais pr&#243;xima das premissas da abordagem tradicional de ensino.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT As society absorbs technological novelties increasingly faster, this evolution has been affecting all human activities and pedagogical practices. The incorporation of Information and Communication Technologies in education has led to the emergence of Virtual Learning Environments. This article aims to study the usage of Moodle tools and discuss their pedagogical potential in three UNIFESP distance learning graduate courses. With a quantitative case study-driven inquiry, content analysis and a bespoke tool developed for the study, called &#8220;Moodle 1.9.x Data Extrator&#8221;, were used for the data collection. The study concludes that although Moodle offers constructivist-oriented training tools aimed at its primary focal points of interaction and collaboratively constructed knowledge, in the courses sampled, the learning process, as regards the use of Moodle and the tools offered by the VLA, seems to have assumed a trend closer to the traditional teaching approach.]]></p></abstract>
