A partir das falas desse estudante e de professores de ciências que participaram de uma formação continuada, buscamos refletir sobre o direito de acesso e condição de permanência das pessoas com deficiências nos anos finais do ensino fundamental. Através da metodologia história de vida foram estudados os desafios e as condutas do processo de inclusão, que destacaram quatro categorias emergentes: dificuldades, norteadores de práticas, adaptações e descobertas. Conclui-se que propor adaptações nas aulas de ciências para esse estudante com deficiência intelectual foi um fator positivo para sua participação e inclusão em todos os momentos da aula, bem como para uma prática pedagógica inclusiva dos professores envolvidos, contribuindo para a efetiva participação acadêmica do estudante com deficiência intelectual no processo ensino-aprendizagem.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article is part of a master's research that analyzes aspects about the inclusion of a student with intellectual disabilities in a city in Rio de Janeiro. From the speeches of this student and science teachers who participated in continuing education, we seek to reflect on the right of access and permanence condition of people with disabilities in the final years of elementary school. Through the life history methodology, the challenges and behaviors of the inclusion process were studied, which highlighted four emerging categories: difficulties, guiding practices, adaptations and discoveries. It is concluded that proposing adaptations in science classes for this student with intellectual disabilities was a positive factor for their participation and inclusion at all times in the class, as well as for an inclusive pedagogical practice of the teachers involved, contributing to the effective academic participation of the student. student with intellectual disability in the teaching-learning process.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este artículo es un fragmento de una investigación de maestría que analiza aspectos sobre la inclusión de un estudiante con discapacidad intelectual de un municipio de Río de Janeiro. A partir de las declaraciones de este estudiante y de los profesores de ciencias que participaron en una formación contínua, buscamos reflexionar sobre el derecho de acceso y las condiciones de permanencia de las personas con discapacidades en los años finales de la educación primaria. A través de la metodología de historia de vida, se estudiaron los desafíos y la conducta del proceso de inclusión, que destacaron cuatro categorías emergentes: dificultades, guías de prácticas, adaptaciones y descubrimientos. En conclusión, proponer adaptaciones en las clases de ciencias para ese estudiante con discapacidad intelectual fue un factor positivo para su participación e inclusión en todos los momentos de la clase, así como para una práctica pedagógica inclusiva de los profesores involucrados, contribuyendo para la efectiva participación académica de dicho estudiante en el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje.]]></p></abstract>
