Esse panorama permite diferentes leituras sobre a utiliza&#231;&#227;o de computadores no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Nesta perspectiva, este artigo relata uma reflex&#227;o em bases s&#243;cio-hist&#243;ricas e culturais, sobre a compreens&#227;o das potencialidades e limita&#231;&#245;es do uso do computador em Escolas do Ensino M&#233;dio da Rede P&#250;blica da Baixada Fluminense, para o Ensino de Qu&#237;mica. Algumas considera&#231;&#245;es gerais, referentes &#224;s primeiras experi&#234;ncias desta utiliza&#231;&#227;o concluem nossa apresenta&#231;&#227;o da investiga&#231;&#227;o.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The use of Technologies of Information and Communication (TIC) in education has called attention. This use allows different interpretations on the use of computers in the teaching and learning process. Thus, this article reports a reflection on socio-historical and cultural basis, about the potentialities and limitations of the use of computers for Chemistry Education in State High Schools in Baixada Fluminense, a region in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Some general considerations, for the first experiments using this conclude our presentation of research results.]]></p></abstract>
