Buscam-se, a partir da hist&#243;ria e da forma&#231;&#227;o a dist&#226;ncia, compreender e refletir sobre as mudan&#231;as e as transforma&#231;&#245;es no &#226;mbito das pol&#237;ticas de forma&#231;&#227;o de professores nas IES e suas implica&#231;&#245;es, mais especificamente na UFT. A metodologia adotada recorre &#224;s fontes bibliogr&#225;ficas, documentais e entrevistas. Os resultados evidenciam que houve um aumento significativo de oferta de cursos de licenciaturas a dist&#226;ncia no Tocantins, contudo muitos desafios precisam ser superados no sentido de ampliar o acesso e garantir a qualidade na forma&#231;&#227;o docente.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract:  This work presents some considerations about teacher training in distance learning mode, in the context of expansion of higher education. It seeks, based on the history and formation of distance learning, to understand and reflect on the changes and transformations in policies on teacher training in HEIs and their implications, specifically at UFT (Federal University of Tocantins). The methodology adopted uses bibliographic and documentary sources, and interviews. The results show that there was a significant increase in the supply of teacher training courses in distance learning mode in the state of Tocantins. However, there are many challenges to be overcome in order to expand access and ensure quality in teacher training.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen:  Este art&#237;culo presenta algunas reflexiones sobre la formaci&#243;n a distancia de profesores en el contexto de la expansi&#243;n e interiorizaci&#243;n de la educaci&#243;n superior. A partir de la historia y de la formaci&#243;n a distancia, se busca comprender y reflexionar sobre los cambios y las transformaciones en el &#225;mbito de las pol&#237;ticas de formaci&#243;n de docentes en las IES y sus implicaciones, m&#225;s espec&#237;ficamente en la UFT. La metodolog&#237;a adoptada utiliza fuentes bibliogr&#225;ficas, documentales y entrevistas. Los resultados muestran que hubo un aumento significativo en la oferta de cursos de profesorado a distancia en Tocantins; sin embargo, deben superarse muchos retos con el fin de ampliar el acceso y garantizar la calidad en la formaci&#243;n docente.]]></p></abstract>
