A pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa, contou com a participação de dez professores, sendo nove ouvintes e uma professora surda, de um colégio público localizado no Paraná, Brasil. Para a coleta de dados foram utilizados um questionário sociodemográfico e uma entrevista semiestruturada. Os resultados revelam que os professores consideram de fundamental importância a participação das famílias no processo de ensino e aprendizagem dos filhos surdos, pois acreditam que parceria família-escola ajuda a criar um ambiente de aprendizado, a estimular o desenvolvimento acadêmico e a proporcionar segurança e pertencimento. Concluiu-se que é essencial um ambiente educacional que valorize, respeite e fortaleça a relação família-escola, garantindo, assim, o desenvolvimento social para além dos limites da instituição.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This study aims to analyze the perception of teachers who work in high school at a bilingual school for the deaf regarding the participation of families in the school life of deaf students. The research, of a qualitative nature, had the participation of ten teachers, nine of whom are hearing and one is deaf, from a public school located in the state of Paraná, Brazil. A sociodemographic questionnaire and a semi-structured interview were used to collect data. The results reveal that teachers consider the participation of families in the teaching and learning process of deaf children to be of fundamental importance, as they believe that the family-school partnership helps to create a learning environment, stimulate academic development and provide security and belonging. Concluded that an educational environment that values, respects and strengthens the family-school relationship is essential, thus ensuring social development beyond the confines of the institution.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar la percepción de los docentes que trabajan en el nivel secundario de un colegio bilingüe para sordos sobre la participación familiar en la vida escolar de los estudiantes sordos. La investigación, de carácter cualitativo, contó con la participación de diez profesores, nueve de ellos oyentes y uno sordo, de una escuela pública ubicada en el Estado de Paraná, Brasil. Para la recolección de datos se utilizó un cuestionario sociodemográfico y una entrevista semiestructurada. Los resultados revelan que los docentes consideran de fundamental importancia la participación de las familias en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de los niños sordos, ya que creen que la colaboración familia-escuela ayuda a crear un ambiente de aprendizaje, estimula el desarrollo académico y proporciona seguridad y pertenencia. Concluyó que es fundamental un ambiente educativo que valore, respete y fortalezca la relación familia-escuela, garantizando así el desarrollo social más allá de los límites de la institución.]]></p></abstract>
