Considerando-se os eixos teórico-conceituais de curso de vida, educação ao longo da vida, mudanças demográficas e uso da internet para fins de aprendizagem, investiga-se se os diferenciais nos marcadores de desigualdade caracterizados por idade, sexo, cor, região de residência e faixa de renda são comuns às dimensões de educação formal (alfabetização, frequência escolar, média de anos de estudos) e não formal (uso da internet para consultar enciclopédias, ler jornais/revistas, realizar atividades escolares e estudar por conta própria). Os referidos eixos teóricos foram empregados enquanto norteadores para exploração dos microdados da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (PNAD, 2005 e 2015) e da Pesquisa sobre o uso das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC-Domicílios, 2010 e 2019). Os resultados foram obtidos por meio da aplicação de técnicas de estatística descritiva, incluindo-se a normalização para comparação entre as diferentes populações e anos. Nos períodos considerados, assinala-se que houve ampliação da escolaridade média da população adulta, principalmente dentre os mais jovens, mas houve decréscimo da participação dos adultos no ensino formal. O uso da internet para atividades relativas à aprendizagem se intensificou, sobretudo na região Nordeste do país. À exceção dos diferenciais segundo sexo, os marcadores de desigualdade permanecem os mesmos, porém, dentre os anos analisados registra-se diminuição das diferenças entre os grupos sociodemográficos selecionados.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT: Do the inequalities observed in the formal education of the Brazilian adult population also occur in non-formal learning? Considering the theoretical-conceptual axes of life course, lifelong education, demographic changes and use of the internet for learning purposes, we investigate whether the differences in inequality markers characterized by age, gender, color, region of residence and income are common to the dimensions of formal education (literacy, school attendance, average years of study) and non-formal education (use of the internet to consult encyclopedias, read newspapers/magazines, carry out school activities and study on their own). These theoretical axes were used as guidelines to explore the microdata from the National Household Sample Survey (PNAD, 2005 and 2015) and the Survey on the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT-Households, 2010 and 2019). The results were obtained by applying descriptive statistical techniques, including normalization to compare the different populations and years. In the periods considered, there was an increase in the average schooling of the adult population, especially among younger people, but there was a decrease in the participation of adults in formal education. The use of the internet for learning-related activities increased, especially in the Northeast of the country. Apart from the differences according to gender, the inequality markers remain the same, but the differences between the selected sociodemographic groups have decreased over the years analyzed]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN: ¿Las desigualdades observadas en la educación formal de la población adulta brasileña también ocurren en el aprendizaje no formal? Considerando los ejes teórico-conceptuales del curso de vida, la educación a lo largo de la vida, los cambios demográficos y el uso de Internet con fines de aprendizaje, investigamos si las diferencias en los marcadores de desigualdad caracterizados por la edad, el sexo, el color, la región de residencia y la franja de ingresos son comunes a las dimensiones de la educación formal (alfabetización, asistencia escolar, promedio de años de estudio) y no formal (uso de Internet para consultar enciclopedias, leer periódicos/revistas, realizar actividades escolares y estudiar por cuenta propia). Estos ejes teóricos sirvieron de guía para explorar los microdatos de la Encuesta Nacional de Hogares por Muestreo (PNAD, 2005 y 2015) y de la Encuesta sobre el Uso de Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC-Hogares, 2010 y 2019). Los resultados se obtuvieron aplicando técnicas de estadística descriptiva, incluyendo la normalización para comparar las diferentes poblaciones y años. En los periodos considerados, aumentó la escolarización media de la población adulta, especialmente entre los más jóvenes, pero disminuyó la participación de los adultos en la educación formal. Aumentó el uso de Internet para actividades relacionadas con el aprendizaje, especialmente en el noreste del país. A excepción de las diferencias según el sexo, los marcadores de desigualdad siguen siendo los mismos, pero las diferencias entre los grupos sociodemográficos seleccionados han disminuido a lo largo de los años analizados]]></p></abstract>
