Giroux, Paulo Freire e Ilan Gur-Ze'ev e de uma pesquisa de campo aplicada a professores(as) formadores(as) no Brasil. Para tanto, aborda alguns conceitos propostos por cada um dos três autores, como o conceito de intelectual transformativo proposto por Giroux, a perspectiva do(a) professor(a) como um(a) libertador(a) político(a) desenvolvida por Freire e o conceito de professor-improvisador descrito por Gur-Ze&#8217;ev na sua teorização sobre a contraeducação. Na segunda parte as contribuições teóricas desses autores servem como referência para interpretar os dados obtidos em uma pesquisa qualitativa aplicada a professores(as) de disciplinas pedagógicas de cursos de Licenciatura de uma universidade pública federal no estado do Rio Grande do Sul sobre o papel do(a) professor(a) na Educação contemporânea. Na análise de dados, retoma-se a questão do emprego do termo &#8220;papel&#8221; apresentada na introdução bem como do emprego da expressão &#8220;papel do(a) professor(a)&#8221; como categoria de análise da pesquisa em relação à qual os entrevistados demonstraram, em sua maioria, identidade conceitual. Dentre as falas dos entrevistados, destacam-se as temáticas da intencionalidade da ação docente, da neutralidade e da politicidade da ação docente, as quais têm grande relevância na obra dos autores estudados e repercussão no debate social brasileiro, vide os mais variados projetos de lei apresentados nas casas legislativas brasileiras que intentam, à sua visão, despolitizar a Educação no país.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article discusses the role of the teacher in Education based on Henry A. Giroux, Paulo Freire and Ilan Gur-Ze'ev&#8217;s theoretical work and scientific data obtained from a field research applied to teacher trainers in Brazil. For this purpose, it approaches some theoretical concepts proposed by each of the aforementioned authors, such as the concept of transformative intellectual proposed by Giroux, a perspective of the teacher as a political liberator developed by Freire, and the concept of improviser-teacher described by Gur-Ze'ev in his theory on counter-education. In the second part, the theoretical contributions of these authors serve as a reference to interpret the data obtained in a qualitative research applied to teachers of pedagogical disciplines of undergraduate courses at a federal public university in the State of Rio Grande do Sul on the role of the teacher in contemporary Education. In the data analysis, the issue of applying the term &#8220;role&#8221; presented in the introduction was revisited, as well as the use of the expression &#8220;role of the teacher&#8221; as a category of research analysis, to what the majority of the respondents showed a conceptual identity. Some of the core topics identified from the respondents answers referred to the intentionality of teaching, the neutrality and the politicity of teaching, which are relevant topics in the theoretichal work of the authors and reverberate in the Brazilian social debate, as seen through varied bills distributed in the Brazilian legislative houses intending to depoliticize education in the country.]]></p></abstract>
