O autor italiano associa arte e antropologia, facultando o passo a mais da articulação argumentativa de Vattimo ao trazer o conceito de &#8220;monumentalidade&#8221;. Para ilustrar a aplicação desse conceito e compreender o processo mais amplo de carnavalização, analisaremos o desfile carnavalesco organizado por Joãozinho Trinta no ano de 1989, em que o monumento do Cristo Redentor é ressignificado político-culturalmente contra uma decisão jurídica a favor da Arquidiocese do Rio de Janeiro.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The purpose of the article is to place the Carnival party as an example of the monumentality advocated by Gianni Vattimo. The Italian author associates art and anthropology, providing a further step in Vattimo's argumentative articulation by bringing the concept of &#8220;monumentality&#8221;. To illustrate the application of this concept to understand the broader process of carnivalization, we will analyze the carnival parade organized by Joãozinho Trinta in 1989, in which the Cristo Redentor monument is politically and culturally resignified against a legal decision in favor of the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro.]]></p></abstract>
