Embora haja indicações de que ao longo de sua vida Anísio Teixeira não alterou suas ideias em relação à educação , consideramos que é nessa década que ele formula e apresenta sua compreensão acerca do processo histórico da educação nacional. Discute-se não apenas a formulação sobre o Ensino Médio, que àquele tempo abarcava o antigo curso ginasial, mas a formulação global do que Anísio denomina de ‘padrão escolar’ da escolaridade brasileira, pois, no seu entendimento, por mais que os vários níveis da escolaridade tenham permanecido segmentados por muito tempo, as características de um segmento se comunicam com as de outros.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Current research analyzes Anísio Teixeira´s ideas for the Brazilian high school as provided by his conferences given in the 1950s and later published by him. Although it may be stated that Teixeira scantily changed positions taken early in life, it seems that during this particular decade he provided a more comprehensive notion of the historical process for a national education. Current investigation discusses not merely his formulations for high school, which during that period also included the four stages of the primary school, but a global formulation denominated the ´Brazilian school standard´. Although various levels of schools remained segmented, in his opinion these segments had a lively inter-communication.]]></p></abstract>
