A pesquisa partiu do entendimento que os professores, ao iniciarem a doc&#234;ncia, precisam inserir-se na cultura universit&#225;ria e encontrar apoio pedag&#243;gico para desenvolver suas aulas, pois, em geral, s&#227;o rec&#233;m-doutores, cumprem com a titula&#231;&#227;o requerida para o ingresso na carreira, por&#233;m possuem pouca ou nenhuma prepara&#231;&#227;o pedag&#243;gica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Current paper is the result of a research on twenty-eight starting university teachers in four universities in southern Brazil and seeks to understand their concern on pedagogical discussion spaces as a possible support for the development of their teaching practice. The research started from the point that starting teachers should insert themselves within higher education culture and find pedagogical support to develop their lectures.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Este texto es resultado de una investigaci&#243;n hecha con veintiocho docentes universit&#225;rios principiantes, en cuatro universidades del sur de Brasil, a fin de entender sus comprensiones sobre espacios para discusiones pedag&#243;gicas como posibilidad de apoyo para el desarrollo de sus pr&#225;cticas. La investigaci&#243;n parti&#243; del entendimiento que los profesores, al iniciar la docencia, necesitan insertarse en la cultura universitaria y encontrar apoyo pedag&#243;gico para desarrollar sus clases, pues, en general, son reci&#233;n doctores, cumplen con la titulaci&#243;n requerida para el ingreso en la carrera, sin embargo poseen poca o ninguna preparaci&#243;n pedag&#243;gica.]]></p></abstract>
