Busca-se identificar nesse processo alguns elementos da Teoria de Aprendizagem Significativa. A atividade foi realizada dentro de uma disciplina de Pré-Cálculo com estudantes de vários cursos de graduação de uma universidade pública no Estado do Pará. Após a realização da atividade, os estudantes demonstraram ter compreendido os conceitos e propriedades relacionados às funções exponenciais, sinalizando um interesse maior pelo tema, pois puderam identificar sua aplicação em várias áreas do conhecimento, além da oportunidade de aprender e trabalhar com algumas ferramentas da informática como o Excel e o GeoGebra.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The purpose of this article is to describe an activity that was carried out by the construction and analysis of some mathematical models in the context of the study of exponential functions, using empirical data and using the use of computer tools. It seeks to identify in this process some elements of Significant Learning Theory. The activity was carried out within a PreCalculation course with students of several undergraduate courses of a public university in the State of Pará. After the activity was accomplished, the students demonstrated to have understood the concepts and properties related to the exponential functions, signaled a Interest in the subject, since they could identify its application in several areas of knowledge, as well as the opportunity to learn and work with some computer tools such as Excel and GeoGebra.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este presente artículo tiene por objeto describir una actividad que se llevó a cabo para la construcción y análisis de algunos modelos matemáticos en el contexto del estudio de funciones exponenciales, utilizando datos empíricos y teniendo como ayuda el uso de herramientas informáticas. Buscamos identificar en este proceso algunos elementos de la teoría del aprendizaje significativo. La actividad se llevó a cabo dentro de un curso de pré-cálculo con estudiantes de varias Carreras de grado de una universidad pública del estado de Pará. Después de la ejecución de la actividad, los estudiantes demostraron haber comprendido los conceptos y propiedades relacionadas con las funciones exponenciales, señalando um mayor interes en el tema porque pudieron identificar su aplicación en varias áreas del conocimiento, además de la oportunidad de aprender y trabajar con algunas herramientas informáticas como Excel y GeoGebra.]]></p></abstract>
