O estudo caracteriza-se como ensaio teórico derivado de uma pesquisa bibliográfica. As conclusões obtidas demonstram a necessidade de se romper com as visões organicistas, bem como de se constituir políticas sociais, inclusive educacionais, que respeitem a diversidade humana e os diferentes modos de aprender, mas também enfrentem a desigualdade social brasileira.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Based on a theoretical reflection on the conceptions of medicalization and pathologization of school life, this article seeks to understand how these phenomena influence the conduct of teaching and learning processes and the exercise of the social right to education in the Brazilian context. The study is characterized as a theoretical essay derived from bibliographic research. The conclusions obtained demonstrate the need to break with organicist views, as well as to establish social policies, including educational ones, that respect human diversity and different ways of learning, but also address Brazilian social inequality.]]></p></abstract>

El estudio se caracteriza como un ensayo teórico derivado de una investigación bibliográfica. Las conclusiones obtenidas demuestran la necesidad de romper con las visiones organicistas, así como de establecer políticas sociales, incluidas las educativas, que respeten la diversidad humana y las diferentes formas de aprender, pero también aborden la desigualdad social brasileña.]]></p></abstract>
