Para tanto, as análises centraram-se em torno do Imperial Colégio Pedro II, pela sua idealização como instituição modelar para o ensino secundário no país. A concepção das &#8216;Belas Artes&#8217; que perdurou até o fim do oitocentos, integrando também a música, a ginástica e a dança, será uma base fundamental para as discussões desenvolvidas ao longo do texto. A categoria analítica &#8216;relação de vizinhança&#8217;, definida por André Chervel dentro do estudo da história das disciplinas escolares, foi relevante para o desenvolvimento dessas articulações, sobretudo, para se refletir sobre a importância dessas matérias no currículo escolar.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The article aims to analyse the relations between music, gymnastics and dance as taught in Brazilian Secondary School in the 19th century. The &#8216;Imperial Colégio Pedro II&#8217; occupies a central place in the analysis, in view of its importance as an institution that was created to be a model of Secondary School in the country. The concept of the &#8216;Fine Arts&#8217; that predominated until the end of the 19th century which also included music, gymnastics and dance, is fundamental for the discussions developed throughout the text. &#8216;Neighbourhood relations&#8217;, as defined by Andre Chervel in his researches on the History of school subjects, was central to the development of these articulations. This concept is essential to understand the importance of these subjects in the school curriculum.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: El artículo pretende analizar las relaciones entre la enseñanza de la música; la gimnasia y la danza en el contexto de la educación secundaria; en Río de Janeiro durante el siglo XIX. El imperial Colegio Pedro II ocupa un lugar central en los análisis; en su papel como modelo para la enseñanza secundaria en el país. La concepción de las &#8216;Bellas Artes&#8217; que perduró hasta finales del siglo XIX; integrando también la música; la gimnasia y la danza; será una base fundamental para las discusiones planteadas a lo largo del texto. La categoría analítica &#8216;relaciones de vecindad&#8217; definida por André Chervel dentro del estudio de la historia de las disciplinas escolares; fue central para el desarrollo de esas articulaciones; sobre todo; para comprender la importancia de dichas materias en el currículo escolar.]]></p></abstract>
