Mobilizamos manuais pedagógicos de Portugal, normativas e pesquisas sobre a formação de professores portugueses e brasileiros, para a análise, diálogo e cotejamento das fontes. Como conclusões, destacamos que as divergências e tensões entre as abordagens dos &#8216;saberes a ensinar e para ensinar&#8217; contribuem para elucidar a apropriação de Coelho no processo formativo de professores nos dois países. O alargamento no processo analítico, de modo a incluir outras disciplinas que participaram da formação do professor primário, como a de Desenho, permite melhor compreender os saberes profissionais em questão, seja no contexto de Portugal, seja no do Brasil.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: In this article, we problematize the appropriations for the teaching of geometry developed by José Augusto Coelho, in the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, in Brazil and Portugal. We mobilized pedagogical manuals from Portugal, regulations and research on the training of Portuguese and Brazilian teachers, for analysis, dialogue and comparison of sources. As conclusions, we emphasize that the divergences and tensions between the approaches of the &#8216;knowledge to teach&#8217; and &#8216;knowledge for teaching&#8217; contribute to elucidate the appropriation of Coelho in the training process of teachers in both countries. The expansion of the analytical process to include other disciplines that participated in the training of primary teachers, such as Drawing, allows a better understanding of the professional knowledge in question, whether in the context of Portugal or Brazil.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: En este artículo, problematizamos las apropiaciones para la enseñanza de la geometría desarrolladas por José Augusto Coelho, en el cambio del siglo XIX al XX, en Brasil y Portugal. Movilizamos manuales pedagógicos de Portugal, normativas e investigaciones sobre la formación de profesores portugueses y brasileños, para análisis, diálogo y comparación de fuentes. Como conclusiones, destacamos que las divergencias y tensiones entre los enfoques del &#8216;saber a enseñar&#8217; y el &#8216;saber para enseñar&#8217; contribuyen a dilucidar la apropiación de Coelho en el proceso de formación de docentes en ambos países. La ampliación del proceso analítico, para incluir otras disciplinas que participaron en la formación de profesores de primaria, como el Dibujo, permite una mejor comprensión del saber profesional en cuestión, ya sea en el contexto de Portugal o Brasil.]]></p></abstract>
