Considerando a perspectiva dial&#243;gico-problematizadora do material did&#225;tico PROBIO Educa&#231;&#227;o Ambiental (PROBIO-EA), este se constitui um potencial complemento &#224; sala de aula, a qual costuma se embasar em livros did&#225;ticos incompletos. Este trabalho prop&#244;s-se a fazer a avalia&#231;&#227;o da contribui&#231;&#227;o do PROBIO-EA para a aprendizagem do conceito central &#8220;extin&#231;&#227;o de esp&#233;cies&#8221;, usando conceitos relacionados que estavam presentes no material. A avalia&#231;&#227;o foi desenvolvida em salas de aula de 6&#170; s&#233;rie/7&#186; ano de duas escolas da rede p&#250;blica de Bras&#237;lia. Mapas conceituais (MC) foram elaborados em momentos pr&#233; e p&#243;s-teste, e entre eles, utilizou-se o PROBIO-EA. Os MC foram contrastados com mapas elaborados por experts. Os resultados mostram que os referidos alunos passaram a construir MC mais semelhantes aos dos experts e a estabelecer mais rela&#231;&#245;es corretas e acerca do conceito central de extin&#231;&#227;o de esp&#233;cies.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT Academic research, Brazilian and international documents emphasize the concern for conservation education and the scenario of high species extinction. Considering the dialogical problem-solving perspective of the didactic material PROBIO-Environmental Education (PROBIO-EE), this constitutes a potential tool for the classroom. This work aimed to make the evaluation of the contribution of PROBIO-EE for understanding of the central concept of species extinction, through the use of concepts presented in the material. The evaluation was performed in the classrooms of 6th grade in two public schools in Bras&#237;lia - Brazil. Concept Maps (CM) were produced in pre and post-test, and among them, students used the PROBIO-EE. The student&#8217;s CM were compared with maps produced by experts. Results showed that students construct CM more like those of experts and produced more right relationships about the central concept, that is limited at school.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Investigaciones y documentos nacionales e internacionales destacan la preocupaci&#243;n con la ense&#241;anza de la Conservaci&#243;n de la Biodiversidad y con el escenario de elevada extinci&#243;n de especies. Considerando la perspectiva dial&#243;gico-problematizadora del material did&#225;ctico PROBIO Educaci&#243;n Ambiental (PROBIO-EA), este se constituye en un potencial complemento a las clases baseadas en libros did&#225;cticos incompletos. Este trabajo har&#225; una evaluaci&#243;n de la contribuci&#243;n del PROBIO-EA para el aprendizaje del concepto central Extinci&#243;n de especies, usando conceptos presentes en el material. La evaluaci&#243;n fue desarrollada en las clases del sexto/septimo a&#241;o de dos escuelas de la red p&#250;blica de Brasilia. Mapas conceptuales (MC) fueron elaborados en momentos pre y post-ensayo, y entre ellos, se utiliz&#243; el PROBIO-EA. Los MC fueron contrastados con mapas elaborados por experts.
