Como pano de fundo para esta an&#225;lise utilizaremos, principalmente, as ideias de Hargreaves, no sentido de buscar explicar a forma&#231;&#227;o continuada a partir do conceito de intensifica&#231;&#227;o e da ideia de mudan&#231;a, ambas discutidas por ele na obra Os professores em tempos de mudan&#231;a. A pergunta que norteia o texto pode ser formulada nestes termos: a forma&#231;&#227;o continuada constitui-se, atualmente, como mais um elemento do processo de intensifica&#231;&#227;o do trabalho docente ou como possibilidade real de desenvolvimento profissional, pessoal e, em &#250;ltima an&#225;lise, como uma possibilidade de mudan&#231;a? Como resultado, acreditamos que a forma&#231;&#227;o continuada pode contribuir para a mudan&#231;a, desde que esta represente a vontade de mudan&#231;a dos professores, que emerge das necessidades reais de seu trabalho e n&#227;o como imposi&#231;&#227;o externa.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The present article intends to discuss teacher continuing education seeking to analyze how it has been configured and how it has contributed (or how it could effectively contribute) to the work developed at the school. We use the ideas addressed by Hargreaves, mainly the concept of intensification and change, both discussed by the author in the book Changing teachers changing times as the framework for this analysis. The question that guides the text can be formulated in theses terms: does teacher continued education constitute, at present, an element of the intensification of the teacher work or a real possibility for change? As an outcome, we believe that it can contribute for change, once it truly represents teacher&#8217;s needs and desires for change, which emerge from their real necessities and not as an external imposition.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Este art&#237;culo aborda la formaci&#243;n continua de los profesores buscando analizar la forma en que se ha configurado y c&#243;mo ha contribuido (o c&#243;mo podr&#237;a contribuir de manera efectiva) a la labor realizada en la escuela. Como tel&#243;n de fondo para este an&#225;lisis, utilizaremos principalmente las ideas de Hargreaves, con el fin de tratar de explicar la formaci&#243;n continuada basadas en el concepto de intensificaci&#243;n y en la idea de cambio, discutido por &#233;l en el libro Changing teachers changing times. La pregunta que gu&#237;a el texto puede ser formulada en estos t&#233;rminos: &#191;la educaci&#243;n permanente constituye, hoy en d&#237;a, como un elemento m&#225;s de la intensificaci&#243;n de la ense&#241;anza o como posibilidad real de profesional, proceso de desarrollo personal y, en &#250;ltima instancia, como una posibilidad de cambiar? Como resultado, creemos que la educaci&#243;n continua puede contribuir al cambio, ya que representa la voluntad de cambio de los profesores, que surge de las necesidades reales de su trabajo y no como una imposici&#243;n externa.]]></p></abstract>
