Para al&#233;m de seu car&#225;ter utilit&#225;rio impl&#237;cito na troca de informa&#231;&#245;es, esses objetos - os gadgets, propiciam outro, o simb&#243;lico, que permeia as ideias de conectividade e de socialidade. Entretanto, no mundo universit&#225;rio e acad&#234;mico, adepto, geralmente, do processo conservador e positivista que tem na hierarquia o seu pilar maior de sustenta&#231;&#227;o, as palavras Juventude, Gadget e Educa&#231;&#227;o s&#227;o ger&#250;ndios: est&#227;o sempre iniciando, crescendo, aprendendo, concluindo, escolhendo, esperando, entre outros. Nada parece habitar o presente, seus tempos s&#227;o o futuro.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The proposition that guides the reflections of this work is that there are central social values in contemporaneity - influenced by the imagery of being young - that are facilitated by the use of new technologies for communication. Beyond its utilitarian character, implicit in the exchange of information, these objects - the gadgets - provide another, the symbolic character, which perme ates the ideas of connectivity and sociality. However, in universities and the academic world, which are generally adept to the conservative and positivist process that has in the hierarchy its greatest sustentation pillar, the words Youth, Education and Gadget are gerunds: are always starting, grow ing, learning, finishing, choosing, waiting, among others. Nothing seems to inhabit the present, their times are the future.]]></p></abstract>
