Os documentos analisados neste artigo são da 5ª Inspetoria Regional do SPI/I. R. 5, referentes ao sul de Mato Grosso (atual Mato Grosso do Sul), mais especificamente ao Posto Indígena José Bonifácio, no município de Caarapó, em território dos Guarani e Kaiowá. A análise documental evidencia o paradigma assimilacionista que norteou a política indigenista do Estado brasileiro apresentando os ideais reguladores para &#8220;a formação do cidadão como sujeito de direito&#8221; e direcionando os objetivos da presença da educação escolar nas áreas de abrangência do SPI, órgão que atuou entre 1910 e 1967.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This paper presents a discussion about school education in the Guarani and Kaiowá Indigenous Reserves, based on historical documents produced in the context of the Indian Protection Service (SPI), consulted at the Antônio Brand Indigenous Documentation Center (CEDOC) (in the Center for Studies and Research of Indigenous Populations [NEPPI], at the Dom Bosco Catholic University [UCDB]) and in the virtual collection of the Indian Museum / FUNAI. The documents analyzed in this article are from the 5th SPI / I Regional Inspectorate. R. 5, referring to the south of Mato Grosso/State (now Mato Grosso do Sul/State), more specifically to the José Bonifácio Indigenous Post, in the municipality of Caarapó, in the territory of the Guarani and Kaiowá. The documentary analysis shows the assimilationist paradigm that guided the indigenist policy of the Brazilian State, presenting the regulating ideals for &#8220;the formation of the citizen as subject of right&#8221; and directing the objectives of the presence of the school education in the areas of coverage of the SPI, organ that acted between 1910 and 1967.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: El texto presenta una discusión sobre la educación escolar en las Reservas Indígenas Guaraní y Kaiowá, a partir de documentos históricos producidos en el contexto de actuación del Servicio de Protección al Indio (SPI), consultados en el Centro de Documentación Indígena Antônio Brand (CEDOC) (en el Núcleo de Estudios e Investigación de las Poblaciones Indígenas [NEPPI], en la Universidad Católica Dom Bosco [UCDB]) y en el acervo virtual del Museo del Indio / FUNAI. Los documentos analizados en este artículo son de la 5ª Inspectoría Regional del SPI/I. R. 5, referentes al sur de Mato Grosso (actual Mato Grosso do Sul), más específicamente al Puesto Indígena José Bonifácio, en el municipio de Caarapó, en territorio de los Guaraní y Kaiowá.
