Por meio de uma pesquisa de natureza exploratória e analítico-descritiva, apresenta uma análise proveniente de respostas de gestores de escolas públicas estaduais da região metropolitana do Grande ABC Paulista. Os resultados do estudo apontaram indícios que convergem para a articulação de uma liderança educacional não centralizadora, formada por sujeitos que compreendem o trabalho da gestão escolar como uma relação colaborativa e corresponsável, com compartilhamentos e tomadas de decisão construídos e mediados no cotidiano da escola, a partir dessas convergências. Ainda que alguns resultados mostrem divergências em relação a essa prática, verifica-se que termos como &#8216;gestão educacional&#8217;, &#8216;gerencialismo&#8217;, &#8216;boas práticas educacionais&#8217;, &#8216;desempenho&#8217; e &#8216;performatividade&#8217; incorporam o vocabulário e o cenário, fundindo as esferas pedagógicas e administrativas. Os resultados denotam que um diretor comprometido com a responsabilidade de compreender os dados de sua escola para além dos números, que mantenha uma liderança distribuída e participativa, possibilita a criação de um ambiente favorável ao trabalho, tanto para alunos quanto para professores.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article aims to understand how school managers in regions of high social vulnerability reconcile the imperatives of managerialism with the demands necessary for social justice. Additionally, it contextualizes the application of these principles in educational processes. Through an exploratory and analytical-descriptive research approach, it presents an analysis based on responses from managers of state public schools in the metropolitan region of Greater ABC Paulista. The results of the study indicate evidence that converges towards the articulation of a non-centralizing educational leadership, composed of individuals who perceive school management as a collaborative and co-responsible relationship, with decision-sharing and decision-making built and mediated in the daily life of the school, stemming from these convergences. Although some results diverge from this practice, it is evident that terms such as &#8216;educational management&#8217;, &#8216;managerialism&#8217;, &#8216;good educational practices&#8217;, &#8216;performance&#8217;, and &#8216;performativity&#8217; have become part of the vocabulary and the landscape, merging pedagogical and administrative spheres. The results suggest that a principal committed to understanding the data of their school beyond the numbers, who maintains a distributed and participative leadership, enables the creation of a favorable environment for both students and teachers.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este artículo tiene como objetivo comprender cómo los gestores de escuelas ubicadas en regiones de alta vulnerabilidad social concilian los imperativos del gerencialismo con las demandas necesarias para la justicia social. Además, contextualiza la aplicación de estos principios en los procesos educativos. A través de una investigación de naturaleza exploratoria y analíticodescriptiva, presenta un análisis basado en las respuestas de los gestores de escuelas públicas estatales en la región metropolitana del Gran ABC Paulista. Los resultados del estudio indican evidencia que converge hacia la articulación de un liderazgo educativo no centralizador, compuesto por individuos que perciben la gestión escolar como una relación colaborativa y corresponsable, con compartición y toma de decisiones construidas y mediadas en la vida cotidiana de la escuela, a partir de estas convergencias. Aunque algunos resultados divergen de esta práctica, es evidente que términos como &#8216;gestión educativa&#8217;, &#8216;gerencialismo&#8217;, &#8216;buenas prácticas educativas&#8217;, &#8216;rendimiento&#8217; y &#8216;performatividad&#8217; se han incorporado al vocabulario y al panorama, fusionando las esferas pedagógicas y administrativas. Los resultados sugieren que un director comprometido con la responsabilidad de comprender los datos de su escuela más allá de los números, que mantenga un liderazgo distribuido y participativo, permite la creación de un entorno favorable tanto para los estudiantes como para los profesores.]]></p></abstract>
