Desenvolveu-se uma pesquisa qualitativa de campo, em que se utilizou as entrevistas semiestruturadas como dispositivos de produção de dados. As interlocutoras foram cinco professoras alfabetizadoras, que atuam em duas escolas rurais da rede municipal de educação de Novo Santo Antônio (PI), cidade localizada a 116 km de Teresina, capital do estado do Piauí. Os resultados apontam que as professoras utilizam a LI, a priori, como estratégia metodológica para o ensino da leitura e da escrita, privilegiando a função pedagógica em detrimento do que é proposto pela educação literária, a saber: as propriedades singulares da criação artística. Conclui-se que é necessário desenvolver ações de formação continuada para que as professoras concebam a alfabetização como processo de compreensão do sistema alfabético de escrita, e o letramento como uso desse sistema em práticas sociais que envolvem a leitura e a escrita, garantindo que a LI seja trabalhada a partir da perspectiva da educação literária.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT This study analyzes the uses of children's literature (LI) during the literacy processes of peasant children, highlighting the contributions of literary education to the formation of readers. A qualitative field research was developed, in which semi-structured interviews were used as data production devices. The interlocutors were five literacy teachers, who work in two rural schools of the municipal education network of Novo Santo Antônio (PI), a city located 116 km from Teresina, capital of the state of Piauí. The results indicate that the teachers use LI, a priori, as a methodological strategy for the teaching of reading and writing, privileging the pedagogical function to the detriment of what is proposed by literary education, namely: the unique properties of artistic creation. It is concluded that it is necessary to develop continuing education actions so that teachers conceive literacy as a process of understanding the alphabetic writing system, and literacy as the use of this system in social practices that involve reading and writing, ensuring that IL is worked from the perspective of literary education.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN Este estudio analiza los usos de la literatura infantil (LI) durante los procesos de alfabetización de niños campesinos, destacando los aportes de la educación literaria a la formación de lectores. Se desarrolló una investigación cualitativa de campo en la que se utilizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas como dispositivos de producción de datos. Los interlocutores fueron cinco alfabetizadores, que trabajan en dos escuelas rurales de la Red Municipal de Educación de Novo Santo Antônio (PI), ciudad ubicada a 116 km de Teresina, capital del Estado de Piauí. Los resultados indican que los docentes utilizan la LI, a priori, como estrategia metodológica para la enseñanza de la lectura y la escritura, privilegiando la función pedagógica en detrimento de las propiedades únicas de la creación artística, propuestas por la educación literaria. Se concluye que es necesario desarrollar acciones de educación continua para que los docentes entiendan la lectoescritura como un proceso de comprensión del sistema de escritura alfabética, la lectoescritura como el uso de este sistema en las prácticas sociales que involucran la lectura y la escritura, asegurando que la IL sea trabajada desde la perspectiva de la educación literaria.]]></p></abstract>
