Buscando analisar o Programa Universidade para Todos, iniciamos a pesquisa O ProUni e o acesso ao ensino superior: estudo introdutório sobre os usuários do programa na zona oeste do município Rio de Janeiro, que tem por objetivo geral avaliar os impactos de uma política pública em educação voltada à inclusão no ensino superior privado, através de bolsas de estudos, de populações com baixas chances de acesso ao ensino superior. No presente artigo apresentamos os dados iniciais da pesquisa coletados em uma Instituição de ensino superior no bairro de Campo Grande, zona oeste do Rio de Janeiro, que apontam para uma evasão próxima à média nacional o que nos leva a inferir, inicialmente, na eficácia do Programa e no sucesso escolar dos indivíduos beneficiados.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[The analysis and evaluation of policies implemented by a government involve factors of different natures, especially when it focuses on social inclusion policies in higher education. With the objective of analyzing the program University for All - ProUni, we started the research ProUni and access to higher education: introductory study on users of the program in the western city of Rio de Janeiro. ProUni aims at evaluating the impacts of public policy in education, focusing on the inclusion of populations with lower chances of access to higher education, in private higher education institutions through scholarships. This paper presents the initial data collected in a higher education institution in Campo Grande, west of Rio de Janeiro, pointing to a dropout rate similar to the national average. That leads us to infer the effectiveness of ProUni and the educational success of individuals benefited by the Program.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[El análisis y la evaluación de las políticas implementadas por el gobierno implican factores de diferente naturaleza, en especial cuando se centra en la educación superior. Para analizar el Programa Universidad para Todos, se inició la búsqueda ProUni y el acceso a la educación superior: estudio introductorio sobre los usuarios del programa en la zona oeste del municipio de Río de Janeiro, que tiene por objeto evaluar los impactos de las políticas públicas en materia de educación orientadas hacia la inclusión en la educación superior privada, a través de becas, de las poblaciones con menores posibilidades de acceso. Este artículo discute el protagonismo de la oferta de la enseñanza superior por las IES (instituciones de educación superior) privadas y presenta los datos iniciales recogidos en una institución de educación superior del barrio de Campo Grande, zona oeste de Río de Janeiro. Su resultado señala una tasa promedio de conclusión del curso de los primeros becarios del ProUni de 81% (ingresaron en 2005 ) y de 75% (ingresaron en 2006).]]></p></abstract>
