En este estudio, realizado en el marco de un proyecto de investigación internacional en el que participan investigadores españoles, portugueses, mexicanos y brasileños, la Educación Ambiental es considerada como un elemento sustancial para abordar las temáticas ambientales en todos los niveles de enseñanza. Se empleó el método de encuesta con un cuestionario de respuesta cerrada. Participaron 434 estudiantes de la Universidade Federal do Paraná de Brasil. Los resultados sugieren un nivel medio-alto de conocimientos, pero no permiten establecer una relación directa entre el nivel de conocimiento declarado y las valoraciones sobre otros elementos de la representación del cambio climático.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The aim of this exploratory study is to explore the knowledge about climate change that Brazilian college students possess and whether this knowledge influences other elements of their social representation such as beliefs and perceptions of climate crisis. In this research, conducted in the context of an international research project involving Spanish, Portuguese, Mexican, and Brazilian researchers, Environmental Education is considered an essential element to address environmental topics at all educational levels. Survey method was conducted with a closed-end questionnaire. 434 students from the Universidade Federal do Paraná, Brazil, participated. Outcomes suggest a medium-high level of knowledge, nonetheless data do not allow to establish a direct relation between the declared level of knowledge and the assessments on other elements, like beliefs or perceptions, of the social representation of the climate change.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[RESUMO Este estudo de caráter exploratório-descritivo trata de compreender os conhecimentos sobre mudança climática que os estudantes universitários brasileiros possuem e a forma como esses conhecimentos influem em outros elementos da sua representação social relacionados com as crenças e as percepções sobre o tema. Neste estudo, realizado no contexto de uma pesquisa internacional em que estão envolvidos pesquisadores espanhóis, portugueses, mexicanos e brasileiros, a Educação Ambiental é considerada como elemento substancial para a abordagem de temáticas ambientais em todos os níveis de ensino. Para a coleta de dados, foi utilizada uma metodologia quantitativa, com o uso de um questionário com questões fechadas. Participaram desta pesquisa 434 estudantes de oito cursos de graduação da Universidade Federal do Paraná, no Brasil. Os resultados apontam que os estudantes possuem um nível médio-alto de conhecimentos, mas os dados não permitem estabelecer uma relação direta entre o nível de conhecimentos e as valorações sobre outros elementos da representação de mudança climática.]]></p></abstract>
