Nossas perguntas de pesquisa direcionam-se a compreender quais os impactos da inserção online de pessoas surdas e qual o potencial da construção de redes para a desconstrução de preconceitos e estigmas relacionados à surdez. Trata-se de um estudo de natureza qualitativa, pautado na revisão bibliográfica a partir de dois conjuntos de autores: um grupo que aborda o avanço tecnológico e as questões de identidade e cultura de forma mais ampla e outro que faz essa discussão no que diz respeito à comunidade surda, pretendendo-se a articulação de ambos. Os resultados indicam desafios como a parca acessibilidade digital e as disparidades na infraestrutura tecnológica. Portanto, é essencial continuar explorando maneiras de fortalecer e ampliar as narrativas culturais de surdos, enfocando sua própria educação, promovendo uma representação do eu autêntica e inclusiva nas mídias digitais e fortalecendo a interatividade das comunidades surdas. Ao fazê-lo, pode-se construir um futuro mais igualitário e inclusivo para todos, com o reconhecimento da língua, cultura e identidade surda. Em conclusão, a tessitura de narrativas sobre a educação de surdos na era digital representa uma oportunidade única de promover uma sociedade mais inclusiva e empoderadora. Ao valorizar e amplificar as vozes dos surdos, pode-se construir um mundo onde a diversidade linguística e cultural é celebrada e respeitada, favorecendo a expressão e a conexão.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The main objective of this essay is to analyze the use of technological resources by the deaf community, discussing the importance of technological advances for the composition of virtual communities. Our research questions aim to understand the impacts of the online insertion of deaf people and the potential of building networks to deconstruct prejudices and stigmas related to deafness. This is a qualitative study, based on a bibliographic review from two groups of authors: one group that addresses technological advances and issues of identity and culture in a broader way, and another that discusses this issue in relation to the deaf community, aiming to articulate both. The results indicate challenges such as limited digital accessibility and disparities in technological infrastructure. Therefore, it is essential to continue exploring ways to strengthen and expand the cultural narratives of deaf people, focusing on their own education, promoting an authentic and inclusive representation of the self in digital media, and strengthening the interactivity of deaf communities. In doing so, we can build a more equitable and inclusive future for all, with recognition of Deaf language, culture and identity. In conclusion, weaving narratives about Deaf education in the digital age represents a unique opportunity to foster a more inclusive and empowering society. By valuing and amplifying Deaf voices, we can build a world where linguistic and cultural diversity is celebrated and respected, fostering expression and connection.]]></p></abstract>
