Trata-se de um esfor&#231;o inicial na dire&#231;&#227;o de discutir aspectos importantes para tal avalia&#231;&#227;o e contribuir com o debate no processo de elabora&#231;&#227;o de crit&#233;rios para o Qualis Peri&#243;dicos da &#225;rea na CAPES. A proposta aqui desenhada, de constru&#231;&#227;o de um indicador, destaca quatro elementos centrais para a avalia&#231;&#227;o: Periodicidade/Atualiza&#231;&#227;o, Internacionaliza&#231;&#227;o, Origem e Distribui&#231;&#227;o Geogr&#225;fica dos Autores e Fator de Impacto, com vistas a que possamos avaliar, quantificar, classificar e estratificar os peri&#243;dicos considerando qu&#227;o atuais, representativos, internacionais e lidos/citados s&#227;o.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This article aims to present a methodology for the Education scientific journals evaluation in Brazil. It is an initial effort to discuss important aspects for such evaluation and to contribute with the debate in the process of criteria elaboration for the CAPES Qualis Journals. The proposal presented here, to create an index, highlights four central elements for the evaluation: Periodicity, Internationalization, Origin and Geographic Distribution of Authors, and Impact Factor, looking for give conditions to evaluate, quantify, classify and rank the journals considering how current, representative, international and read / quoted they are.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Este art&#237;culo tiene por objetivo presentar una metodolog&#237;a para la evaluaci&#243;n de los peri&#243;dicos cient&#237;ficos en el &#225;rea de la Educaci&#243;n en Brasil. Se trata de un esfuerzo inicial en la direcci&#243;n de discutir aspectos importantes para dicha evaluaci&#243;n y contribuir con el debate en el proceso de elaboraci&#243;n de criterios para el Qualis Peri&#243;dicos del &#225;rea en la CAPES.
