Para cumprir tal objetivo, analisou-se o Manual do Uniforme Escolar, distribuído juntamente com os kits de uniformes da rede municipal de Pelotas, a partir do conceito de representação cultural. Essa discussão focalizou como a vestimenta pode disciplinar e regular os indivíduos, instaurando compreensões acerca de igualitarismo, de higiene e de segurança, que, por sua vez, funcionam para produzir modos específicos de vestir-se para ir à escola e, ao contrário do que possa parecer, valorizam a aparência.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract It is aimed, from the post-structuralist cultural studies articulated to the Education field, to understand how the School Uniform Manual the &#8220;Boa Pinta (good-looking) Program &#8211; School Uniform&#8221; takes part in the production of senses on the garments to go to school in Pelotas city schools. In order to fulfill this goal, we have analyzed the School Uniform Manual, distributed along with the uniforms of the Pelotas city schools, from the concept of cultural representation. This discussion focused how the clothes can discipline and regulate individuals establishing understandings about egalitarianism, hygiene and security, which work to produce specific ways to dress up to go to school that, on the contrary to what may seem, appearance is valued.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Objetivamos, a partir de los estudios culturales post-estructuralistas articulados al campo de la Educación, comprender como el Manual del Uniforme Escolar del &#8220;Proyecto Boa Pinta (guapo) &#8211; Uniforme Escolar&#8221; participa de la producción de los sentidos sobre las vestimentas para irse a la escuela en la red municipal de enseñanza de la ciudad de Pelotas. Para cumplir tal objetivo analizamos el Manual del Uniforme Escolar, distribuido juntamente con los kits de uniformes de la red Municipal de Pelotas, a partir del concepto de representación cultural. Esta discusión enfocó como la ropa puede disciplinar y regular los individuos instaurando comprensiones acerca de igualitarismo, de higiene y de seguridad que, por su vez, funcionan para producir modos específicos de vestir para ir a la escuela que, a diferencia de lo que pueda parecer, valoran la apariencia.]]></p></abstract>
