Fundamentado nos Estudos de Gênero e na Sociologia da Infância, sob uma perspectiva pós-estruturalista, o estudo teve como objetivo investigar como as crianças burlam e ressignificam tais scripts, muitas vezes de forma sutil e que passam despercebidas no cotidiano. A pesquisa valoriza essas lutas e resistências por parte das crianças, frequentemente simbólicas, como ponto de partida para ampliar o debate sobre gênero na Educação Infantil a partir da perspectiva da infância. A investigação, conduzida por meio de etnografia, envolveu 17 crianças de quatro anos em uma escola pública da Região Metropolitana de Porto Alegre/RS. Os resultados destacam a importância de criar espaços inclusivos e participativos, nos quais as crianças expressem suas narrativas e desafiem normas tradicionais de gênero. Conclui-se que um currículo inclusivo, formação docente e políticas públicas que promovam ambientes mais livres são fundamentais para assegurar os direitos das crianças.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article examines the strategies young children in Early Childhood Education use to navigate gender scripts in their everyday school experiences, with a focus on the interplay between materialities, spaces, and relationships. Grounded in Gender Studies and the Sociology of Childhood from a post-structuralist perspective, the study aims to explore how children subvert and reinterpret these scripts-often in subtle ways that go unnoticed in daily life. The research values these acts of resistance and struggle, which are frequently symbolic, as a starting point for broadening the conversation on gender in Early Childhood Education through the lens of childhood itself. Conducted through ethnographic methods, the study involved 17 four-year-old children at a public school in the Metropolitan Region of Porto Alegre, Brazil. The findings highlight the importance of fostering inclusive and participatory spaces where children can share their narratives and challenge traditional gender norms. The study concludes that an inclusive curriculum, teacher training, and public policies that promote freer environments are essential to ensuring children&#8217;s rights.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Este artículo analiza las estrategias que las niñas y los niños de la Educación Infantil utilizan para enfrentarse a los scripts de género en la vida cotidiana escolar, con énfasis en las interacciones entre materialidades, espacios y relaciones. Basado en los Estudios de Género y en la Sociología de la Infancia, desde una perspectiva posestructuralista, el estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar cómo las niñas y los niños burlan y resignifican dichos scripts, muchas veces de forma sutil y que suele pasar desapercibida en lo cotidiano. La investigación valora estas luchas y resistencias por parte de las infancias, frecuentemente simbólicas, como punto de partida para ampliar el debate sobre el género en la Educación Infantil desde la perspectiva de la niñez. La investigación, realizada mediante etnografía, involucró a 17 niñas y niños de cuatro años en una escuela pública de la Región Metropolitana de Porto Alegre, Brasil. Los resultados destacan la importancia de crear espacios inclusivos y participativos, en los que las niñas y los niños puedan expresar sus narrativas y desafiar las normas tradicionales de género. Se concluye que un currículo inclusivo, la formación docente y políticas públicas que promuevan ambientes más libres son fundamentales para garantizar los derechos de la infancia.]]></p></abstract>
