Participaram da intervenção 32 estudantes matriculados no 7º ano do ensino fundamental de uma escola privada em um município do interior do estado de São Paulo. Primeiramente, os alunos refletiram sobre os conceitos de finitude e existência, sendo convidados a realizar pesquisas sobre como as diferentes religiões compreendem a morte e os principais rituais fúnebres e de elaboração do luto realizados nas diferentes culturas. A fim de aproximá-los do trabalho etnográfico, realizaram duas visitas ao cemitério da cidade, fazendo registros a partir de entrevistas e fotografias. O projeto foi finalizado com a organização de uma mostra sobre a morte, os mortos e o morrer, com a participação de toda a comunidade escolar. Espera-se que esta intervenção possa ser disparadora de ações conduzidas na escola com vistas ao cotejamento deste importante tema para a formação dos estudantes, sobretudo em tempos nos quais tal discussão emerge de modo onipresente nos processos educacionais e de socialização.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This study aims to report a successful experience conducted with 7th graders to discuss death, the act of dying, and the dead in the light of the subjects of History and Philosophy. In total, 32 students enrolled in the 7th grade of elementary education at a private school in the countryside of São Paulo participated in the intervention. Students were first invited to reflect upon the concepts of finitude and existence, investigating how different religions understand death, as well as the main funeral and mourning rituals in different cultures. To adopt an ethnographic approach, students made two visits to the city cemetery, conducting interviews and making photographic records. By the end of the project, students organized an exhibition on the theme with the participation of the entire school community. This intervention is expected to trigger school actions aimed to address this important topic for students&#8217; formation, especially in times when such a discussion emerges in a ubiquitous way in the educational and socialization processes.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El objetivo de este estudio es presentar una experiencia exitosa, desarrollada en las materias de historia y filosofía con alumnos del 7.º año de la primaria en un contexto de debate sobre la muerte, el morir y los muertos. En la intervención participaron 32 estudiantes matriculados en el 7.° año de la primaria en una escuela privada de una ciudad del interior del estado de São Paulo. En primer lugar, los alumnos reflexionaron sobre los conceptos de finitud y existencia, y debían buscar información sobre cómo las diferentes religiones entienden la muerte y los principales rituales funerarios y de duelo que se llevan a cabo en diferentes culturas. Con el fin de acercarlos al trabajo etnográfico, realizaron dos visitas al cementerio de la ciudad, realizando registros a partir de entrevistas y fotografías. El proyecto finalizó con la organización de una exposición sobre la muerte, los muertos y el morir, que contó con la participación de toda la comunidad escolar. Se espera que esta intervención pueda desencadenar acciones que se lleven a cabo en la escuela con miras a comparar este importante tema para la formación de los estudiantes, especialmente en momentos en los que tal discusión emerge de manera ubicua en los procesos educativos y de socialización.]]></p></abstract>
