Um dos pilares da educação do século XXI é a inserção da arte no ensino de forma transversal e transdisciplinar, visando a aumentar o potencial criativo dos estudantes. Como o livro didático, no Brasil, ainda é o principal recurso pedagógico utilizado nas salas de aula, neste estudo analisamos as interações entre ciência e arte no livro didático Ciências, vida &amp; universo do Ensino Fundamental. O resultado mostrou que a maioria das relações entre ciência e arte busca promover a contextualização do conteúdo, a promoção do diálogo e a interdisciplinaridade. A interação da ciência com a arte nos livros didáticos requer do docente, entretanto, um olhar diferenciado para que a arte não seja um recurso meramente ilustrativo. A arte deve possibilitar a reflexão e a aprendizagem desses dois campos do conhecimento.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Science and technology are part of the development of society, and the knowledge built by the student in these fields can help him/her to develop a critical sense, in decision making and in changing his/her reality. One of the pillars of 21st century education is the insertion of art in teaching in a transversal and transdisciplinary way, aiming to increase the creative potential of students. As the textbook, in Brazil, is still the main pedagogical resource used in classrooms, in this study we analyze the interactions between science and art in the elementary school textbook Ciências, vida &amp; universo. The result showed that most of the relationships between science and art seek to promote the contextualization of content, the promotion of dialogue and interdisciplinarity. However, the interaction of science with art in textbooks requires a different look from the teacher, so that art is not merely an illustrative resource. Art should enable reflection and learning from these two fields of knowledge.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen La ciencia y la tecnología son parte del desarrollo de la sociedade, y los conocimientos construidos por los estudiantes en estos campos pueden ayudarlos a desarrollar el pensamiento crítico em la toma de decisiones y em el cambio de su realidad. Uno de los pilares de la educación del siglo XXI es la inclusión del arte en la enseñanza de forma transversal y transdisciplinaria, buscando incrementar el potencial creativo de los estudiantes. Dado que el libro de texto, en Brasil, sigue siendo el principal recurso pedagógico utilizado en las clases, en este estudio analizamos las interacciones entre ciencia y arte en el libro de texto de la Educación Primaria Ciências, vida &amp; universo. El resultado mostró que la mayoría de las relaciones entre ciencia y arte busca promover la contextualización del contenido, la promoción del diálogo y la interdisciplinariedad. Sin embargo, la interacción entre ciencia y arte en los libros de texto exige del docente una mirada diferenciada para que el arte no sea un recurso meramente ilustrativo.
