Inicialmente, apresentamos uma vis&#227;o panor&#226;mica de como o construtivismo pode afetar os materiais did&#225;ticos que incorporam as novas tecnologias; em seguida, s&#227;o tecidas considera&#231;&#245;es sobre as transforma&#231;&#245;es necess&#225;rias de alguns elementos da pr&#225;tica pedag&#243;gica, como o papel do professor, o planejamento e a avalia&#231;&#227;o educacional em projetos de inova&#231;&#227;o tecnol&#243;gica na escola, sob a mesma perspectiva. A principal contribui&#231;&#227;o do artigo &#233; apresentar os encaminhamentos que t&#234;m sido dados a essa discuss&#227;o nas literaturas nacional e estrangeira, o que pode ser &#250;til a quem deseja aproximar-se das tend&#234;ncias atuais da introdu&#231;&#227;o das novas tecnologias na educa&#231;&#227;o.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[This paper discusses, within a constructivist framework, the use of new information and communication technologies in the educational process, indicating the consequent challenges posed to instructional design and teaching practice. An overview is given of how the constructivist approach can affect both materials and teaching practices which rely upon such new technologies. From the same perspective, the discussion develops some considerations regarding consequent modifications in the educational aspects of school environment, for example, the role of the teacher and the assessment within projects involving technological innovation. The chief aim of the present work is to provide a review of how this topic has been presented in Brazilian and foreign educational publications, which it is hoped may be of help to those interested in recent trends in the introduction of new technologies in education.]]></p></abstract>
